SUMMARY
The General Manager of operations is a highly visible leadership role. This individual is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operation, compliance, and financial results for a designated operation. The General Manager (“GM”) will serve as a primary customer interface for all leadership decisions regarding proposal approval and contract negotiations. This role is the Champion of overseeing local continuous improvement activities, LEAN practices, supply chain analysis, six sigma initiatives, and ISO activities. He/she will also ensure that the operation adheres to the overall corporate mission, vision, and core values while consistently meeting client and company expectations.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Operations, Quality, Costs, Labor Management, Budgeting, Production and Scheduling
Customer Service
· Acts as site level champion of client relationship management
· Implements and monitors KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for assigned operation
· Coordinate and lead business reviews with appropriate client and company representatives for each reporting operation
Overall
· Manage Production Manager, Quality Manager, Safety Manager, Purchasing Manager and HR Generalist.
· Manage to ensure the site meets the dashboard goals monthly
Safety
· Responsible for the overall safety and security of assigned operations and staff
· Maintain positive IFR statistics and other safety metrics for assigned operation
· Actively support and oversee site safety programs and committees for the operation
· Work in conjunction with company and client safety resources to ensure best practices are in place, maintained, and updated as needed to meet compliance standards with OSHA, DOT, or any other relevant regulatory agency or organization
· Requires the daily presence on the floor
· Requires interaction with both DSV and client safety
· Requires management of all incidents including near misses.
· Requires attendance at all Safety pauses
· Safety Team Member
· Ensure both DSV and client programs are being met
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
· High School Diploma or GED is required
· Budgeting and P&L management experience required
· At least 3 years of experience in an operations management related position
Skills, Knowledge, and abilities
Computer Skills
· Basic understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
· Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications
Language Skills
· English (reading, writing, verbal)
Mathematical Skills
· Advanced level expertise required in accounting and financial mathematical applications as related to managing a P&L and preparing site/operational budgets
· The ability to develop effective relationships (CRM), provide leadership, and integrate diverse organizations and individuals toward unifying objectives is critical
Preferred Qualifications
· 4-Year College Degree preferred, will consider equivalent experience or combination of education and experience
· Prefer 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a logistics/distribution/supply chain environment in an operations management capacity
· Varied industry vertical experience is preferred
· 3PL management experience strongly preferred

The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.
· Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, reach, and climb. Must be able to stand for several hours per day to perform required job duties as required by the nature of the business that is supported.
· Must be able to travel by plane and/or automobile.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
· Working conditions are normal for a warehouse environment. Exposure to changing warehouse temperatures is possible.
