As a member of our bookkeeping team, you will perform routine and nonroutine tasks to prepare accurate and timely financial, and nonfinancial, information to meet client needs. In addition to these task, staff accountants will prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or small businesses.

Pay will be commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities of the bookkeeping role:

• Capable of generating and understanding financials reports: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow
• Knowledge of month end closing and year-end tax closings
• Prepare W2s and 1099s
• Prepare payroll and sales/use tax returns, monthly or quarterly
• Process payroll tax payments through EFTPS and various state programs
• Manage multiple clients of various levels of complexity simultaneously
• Monthly bank and credit card reconciliation
• Maintain quality client relationships

Key Responsibilities of the staff accountant role (in addition to roles above):

• Inputting data from financial records into tax return software or databases to prepare Corporate/Individual Federal/State Income Tax Returns
• Calculate income tax adjustments and compile information from multiple sources
• Prepare quarterly Federal and State estimated income tax payments
• Perform research in multiple areas of taxation and communicate findings
• Draft responses to Federal and State notices

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA, CPA eligible, or currently pursuing a CPA is a plus for staff role
• 1-3 years’ relevant public account experience with clients in multiple industries is a plus
• Ability to manage and consistently complete planned engagements or projects accurately and timely with minimal supervision
• Highly organized, analytical and detail oriented
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to assist with the implementation of process improvements within the financial and accounting function
