JOB DESCRIPTION – LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
STATUS: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Brokerage

FUNCTION
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for securing outside capacity to meet customers’ needs. The Logistics
Coordinator works with customers and partner carriers to identify their transportation requirements and finds qualified carriers to transport goods from Point A to Point B, while providing great service. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers and partner carriers.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
A. The Logistics Coordinator reports directly to the Brokerage Manager.
B. The Logistics Coordinator has no supervisory responsibility for subordinates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Posting of available loads to multiple different platforms for partner carriers to view.
B. Following up with partner carriers to promote future business.
C. Works directly with Account Managers to solicit freight for transport on the established partner fleet.
D. Grows the pool of available partner carriers by developing relationships and understanding of carrier’s operations.
E. Provides details regarding load requirements to drivers to ensure goods are transported safely.
F. Resolves conflicts that may arise in a fair and professional manner.
G. Notifies customers of delays with shipments due to truck, trailer or driver issues. Communicates with drivers to obtain up-to-date information to share with customers.
H. Works to capitalize on freight opportunities.
I. Ensures all information is accurate, timely, and organized for customers.
J. Develops and maintains positive, strong working relationships with customers and partner carriers.
K. Maximize efficiencies while utilizing your resources to provide sustainable company growth.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with drivers, partner carriers, customers, and Account
Managers.
B. Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner and listen attentively to others.
C. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to follow-up and follow through as needed.
D. Ability to solve complex problems.
E. Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment.
F. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
G. Must be able to lift to 25 lbs. regularly as well as the ability to bend and twist body.
H. Sitting for long periods of time while using a telephone and computer.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
A. High school diploma or GED required. Some college or trade school preferred.
B. Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is preferred.
C. Working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office and the internet.
