ELACC seeks a forward thinking and passionate Human Resources Generalist that is self-motivated, proactive, and that can successfully carry out HR strategies and objectives. The HR Generalist will play a critical role in providing appropriate guidance, and working closely with the leadership team.
Duties:
– Perform full-cycle recruitment
– Create and maintain a strong partnership with leadership team to manage HR activities, including but not limited to, relevant wage and hour law administration, interpretation and policy implementation, employee relations, disciplinary action, coaching and write ups, labor relations, and employee and management investigations.
– Generate reports and create metrics for management.
– Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continual improvements in efficiency of departments and services performed.
– Manage special projects, as needed,
– Utilize coaching techniques to train managers.
– Works independently under direction of Vice President of Human Capital and Chief Operating Officer.
– Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
– Work with Shop Steward and management team to ensure compliance in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement and company policies. Responds to inquiries and provides thoughtful follow-through, in an efficient and complete manner.
– Ensures proper documentation and follow-through are completed in a timely manner with solid communication of outcomes to both employees and leadership.
– Provides support on Employee and Labor Relations.
– Participates in coordinating training initiatives for ELAAC’s training program.
– Supports all new hire onboarding initiatives for employees and managers, in alignment with human resources, and payroll policies and processes.
– Builds strong relationships with management and employees to improve collaboration, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
– Maintains HR Policies and Procedures.
– Manages employee engagement initiatives and activities.

Required Skills:
– Strong working knowledge of all applicable Human Resources laws and policies at federal, state, and local level.
– Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, compensation practices, organizational development, employee and labor relations, training, diversity, and performance management.
– Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws. Working knowledge of union collective bargaining laws, negotiations, approaches.
– Excellent communication, project management, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
– Interpret laws, policies and processes to all staff.
– Deliver results that support organizational goals and objectives.
– Review and deliver training programs and create solutions that match needs of employees.
– Work independently and as part of a team.
– Committed to confidentiality and to handling sensitive information discreetly.
– Proactively raising issues and helping creating solutions.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR Systems.

Education and Qualifications:
– Bacherlors Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
– 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources.
– Experience with Unions, SPHR/PHR preferred, SHRM Certification a plus.
