The Community Living Manager coordinates supports for people with developmental disabilities living in Community Living settings. He or she manages a caseload and monitors for program quality, client and family satisfaction, fiscal responsibility, and compliance with funding source and accreditation standards.

Duties:

• Will work a direct care shift at least 1 time a month per home.
• Responsible for oversight and quality of programming, medical care, behavior development, and overall care and services for our clients. May work directly with clients and may encounter risky or aggressive behavior.
• Responsible for writing and developing ISP and other data-based plans for all clients in the home. Provides support to Community Living Supervisors and Instructors to ensure effective staff training in the implementations of all behavior development and program plans. Works a minimum of 70% of workweek in clients’ homes with at least 10% of their time in each home they supervise.
• Provides coaching and training on plans. Managers will have individual or small group meetings with each direct care staff person to go through each client’s plan in detail so they have a clear understanding of his/her support needs and an opportunity to ask questions.
• Works to trend and seek resolution to medication errors, reportable events, and other indicators of quality service delivery. Attends all plan meetings and provides input into plan development. Ensures development of data tracking systems and methodologies.
• Provides 24 hour on-call support to Community Living Supervisor. On-call rotation.
• In conjunction with Human Resources and the Community Living Supervisor, interviews and hires staff for each home, as per authorized staffing patterns and support needs of the clients served.
• Performs a monthly audit of household spending and all other client funds.
• Maintains professional relationship with guardians and family members frequently or according to their preferences.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with coursework in the human services field is preferred. Will consider those without a degree but some higher education is required.
• Experience: If degreed must have a minimum of one year supervisory experience and one year working in a Community Living setting with people with developmental disabilities. Candidates without a bachelor’s degree must have five years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities and two years supervisor experience.
• Specific Skills: Maintains safe driving record and current vehicle insurance. Must have reliable, working vehicle. Must have the ability to do simple accounting.
• Other: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as willing to travel within the St. Louis, St. Charles or Kansas City area as required.
