Description: Unarmed security position providing fixed and roving patrol security for a client site. Security Supervisor 1st shift 8am to 4pm M-F. ACTIVE NCPPSB CARD AND SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Full Job Description

REQUIRED DUTIES:

Responsibilities include:

• fulfill role as the security officer during his/her shift
• represent and be responsible for his/her shift to the site supervisor
• security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• understand and fulfill obligations and responsibilities of all posts
• investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• complete State of North Carolina 16-hour basic security officer course within 30 days of hiring.
• maintain daily activity reports on paper, computer, smart phone or tablet.
• watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
• assist customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• completing post order training and familiarization

Expectations include one or more of the following essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation:

• be able to work overtime and on various shifts as needed; including weekends and holidays. Reasonable accommodation based on religious beliefs or disabilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis
• be able to maintain accurate records (ability to read and write)

• stand for long periods of time sometimes in excess of eight hours
• work outside in a variety of weather conditions depending on the assignment
• strictly adhere to client facility rules and policies to include no tobacco on site and no consumption of food in the Security Command Center

Candidates are required to:

• possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
• complete site specific training before serving as a qualified security officer
• have a driver’s license if driving a company or client-owned vehicle
• have the ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
• be at least 18 years old
• be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
• have access to reliable transportation/self-owned that allows for short notice response
• be able to work any shift, 24 hours per day, seven days per week
• participate in training sessions and meetings when scheduled
• adhere to EKG and client safety policies
• have a mobile phone
• have an e-mail address and regularly use it
• be able to operate a computer (windows based) and tablet with basic competency to include human resources and time entry software/web-sites, e-mail, and time entry phone systems
• be able to effectively read, write and speak English
• not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment)
• submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
• be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Additional security officer duties and procedures include but are not limited to the following general orders:

1. Report to work on time and prepare to assume duties.

2. A pass down report must be completed and submitted at the end of every shift.

3. Perform all duties and functions as outlined in the post orders.

4. Maintain constant vigilance and situational awareness.

5. Monitor facility grounds and building during foot and mobile patrol rounds.

6. Report to management and local law enforcement any suspicious or unlawful activity.

7. Respond to Fire, Medical and other incidents as directed. Notify local emergency services if necessary.

8. Protect confidential information and communications.

10. Perform the required patrol routes as outlined in the Post Orders.

11. Communicate professionally and adhere to all company standards, rules & policies.

12. Report unsanitary conditions or activities that could cause harm to the CERW reputation or client liability.

13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

CONDUCT AND DEPORTMENT:

14. A security officer assigned to site must always conduct themselves in a manner which does not bring discredit to the client or employer.

a. Security officers are prohibited from engaging in fraternization with guests or client staff members.

b. Officers must treat each person with respect, dignity, and professionalism.

POST ELIGIBILITY:

1. Security officers must successfully complete all educational requirements and successfully pass all applicable examinations required by the State of prior to North Carolina post assignment

2. Security officers must be physically and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks.

EQUIPMENT:

EKG SECURITY, INC. shall furnish all equipment necessary to perform the work as described herein. All equipment shall be kept in good repair and shall conform to all federal, state and local requirements.
