JOB SUMMARY:
Manages and participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating HR activities, policies, and programs for the company. Manages activities relating to recruitment/retention, benefits and salary programs, performance management, safety, and employee development. Coaches and advises managers to ensure the consistent and effective application of all HR policies and practices across the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Development and implementation of policies and procedures.
2. Continuously monitors and recommends new or revised policies or practices.
3. Assist managers in the overall direction of employees, review the work and evaluate the performance of assigned staff, recommends training requirements, recruiting, hiring, interviewing, discipline and termination.
4. Ensures that uniform standards of working hours, overtime, vacations, leave of absence, holiday and related policies are maintained.
5. Ensures legal compliance with various governmental laws and regulations covering the area of employee relations, OSHA, EEOC, ERISA, ADA safety, employment, wage and hour, workers’ compensation, etc.
6. Recommends and develops the company’s overall compensation program, including salary administration and benefits programs. Ensures that compensation policies and practices conform to state and federal standards and guidelines. Keeps informed of new trends and developments in alternative methods of compensation and changes in tax law.
7. Provides appropriate communications and promote employee understanding of programs, policies, and objectives.
8. Responsible for administrating FMLA, COBRA, WC, UE, ACA, STD/LTD, Garnishments, 401k and
ESOP.
9. Directs the preparation and disbursement of the company’s payroll.
10. Maintain and reconciliation of HR general ledger accounts with accounting.
11. Prepare special projects as assigned by Chief Financial Officer along with proper conclusions and recommendations.
12. Update HR job knowledge by reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations and participating in conference and educational opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates will have current knowledge of employment law, hold a bachelor’s degree, and have a minimum of 5 years of related HR management experience. This individual must have strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities as well as demonstrated proficiency in working with Excel. HR certification is preferred.
