The company is looking to fill the position of HR/Payroll Specialist, based our of the company’s office in Greensboro, NC. The HR/Payroll Specialist works in a team environment supporting multiple payroll processing activities each month in addition to other HR and benefit plan related duties.
Primary Responsibilities
Assists with payroll processing for weekly (hourly and salary), bi-weekly (hourly), monthly salaried, California monthly, and supplemental payrolls.
Serve as a day-to-day HR and payroll resource for assigned set of manufacturing plants.
Assists with year-end processing and other year-end payroll and benefit reporting requirements.
Assist as needed with payroll tax reporting and compliance.
Assist with special projects related to compensation, benefits, and payroll.
Maintain sound knowledge of the company’s policies and benefit plans. Respond to inquiries from employees, retirees, COBRA participants, and facility HR staff on payroll, benefit and policy issues. Resolve concerns and provide interpretations of policies and/or plans. Refer unresolved issues to the manager.
For assigned locations, maintain cash collections process to collect benefit plan contributions for employees on leave of absence
Stay abreast of payroll updates, changes and best practices related to UKG Pro and Kronos systems.
Suggest improvements in controls and/or procedures where warranted.
As needed, perform various administrative duties.
Required Skills
Working knowledge of US payroll regulations.
Experience in processing larger payrolls for multiple legal entities across multiple states.
Very organized and detail-oriented; able to prioritize and work across simultaneous projects and work responsibilities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Cognos Reporting
Experience with UKG Pro and Kronos/Dimensions HRIS systems
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or other related area, or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of proven payroll experience
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), strongly preferred
