Emergency Medical Services Equipment & Supply Supervisor (AM-09) $6,528/month This position is responsible for the direct management, planning, and coordination of the Supply, Equipment and Automotive section in the Emergency Medical Services Division. |
The position plans, supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the Equipment and Supply section involving the purchasing and distribution of supplies and equipment, and the performance of mechanical inspections for preventive maintenance and repair work on ambulances, staff vehicles and equipment assigned to the Emergency Medical Services division; ensures that established policies, procedures and programs are planned and implemented in accordance with the direction of the division; prepares and plans program goals in regards to the purchase, distribution and maintenance of equipment, supply and automotive needs.
Current Vacancy Information:
This position oversees and directs activities of EMS Division’s utility workers, storekeeper and vehicle maintenance inspector personnel through direct supervision, ensuring that established policies, procedures and programs are planned and implemented in accordance with directives of the division. This position must be familiar with the all products, supplies and equipment used by the EMS field personnel. This position must be able to respond to any scene with an emergency medical component and provide logistical support when necessary. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience that demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), including or supplemented by work experience demonstrating aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects; by serving as a group or team leader, or in similar work in which opportunities for demonstrating supervisory capabilities exist; by completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments; or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.
