If you are an electrical engineer looking to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity as an Electrical Design Engineer available for you! We are seeking a self-motivated engineer who will work as a direct contributor on a multi-disciplined project team in our Eden Prairie, MN location. Ideal candidates have successfully developed, released, and supported electronic products throughout their life cycle, meeting quality, performance, cost, and schedule goals with minimal supervision.
AS AN ELECTRICAL DESIGNENGINEER, YOU WILL:
- Assist and/or lead product sustaining activities such as: product or part qualification planning and testing; quality improvements, BOM management, and prepare required technical documentation
- Maintain designs, processes, procedures, quality plans and provide support to manufacturing and other functions.
- Participate in programs and projects involving one or more of the following areas: development or improvement of manufacturing capability, cost reductions, product design, and failure analysis
- Assist and/or lead development of automated tests for product reliability and new product development

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Four years of applicable experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program
- Experience with electronics hardware including digital and analog circuit design and analysis, microprocessor-based board level design, real time embedded multiprocessor design, A/D converters, and power supplies.
- Experience with automated test design
- Familiarity in schematic entry, printed circuit board design, printed circuit board layout, and prototype verification and testing.
- A track record of successful product enhancements and introductions
- Experience with international safety and hazardous location design, including intrinsic safety
- Familiarity with industrial digital communication protocols
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Cultural awareness, ability to work in multiple cultures effectively
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs
