Python Developer

EpochGeo is looking for a Software Developer to support one of the most innovative, exciting, and growing offices that is rooted in geospatial analytics in the national security space.

Are you a developer who loves to work with a multi-discipline team to create novel and creative solutions to vexing problems? EpochGeo is looking for developers to help unlock the potential of geospatial data, with the goal of surfacing insights from raw data.

Location-based big data can be overwhelming, inaccessible, and noisy. EpochGeo is a data services firm specializing in supporting the full spectrum data cycle: beginning with scalable data storage, building algorithms or workflows, and ending with impactful analytics. Our developers, analysts, and data scientists have a proven track record applying open-source innovative technology, data science, and actionable analytics to inform customers’ data driven decisions.

Your background likely includes:

• 2 – 5+ years of software development (Python, or similar).

• Education or military experience in Software Development, Mathematics, Economics, Military Intelligence, Geography or Similar.

• Experience using software to tease interesting insights out of complex or noisy data.

• Experience with open-source software, such as PySpark, Jupyter Notebooks or Pandas.

What you will be doing:

• Collaborate with Analysts and Data Scientists to transition algorithm ideas into friendly APIs with scalable implementations using AWS or similar.

• Leverage spatial data to answer critical questions, and recommend new methodologies.

• Create automated workflows or algorithms and machine learning models from big data to discover insights.

• Innovating within the data storage, scalable processing and automated analytics areas.

Additional:

Must hold a DoD TS clearance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $135,000.00 – $155,000.00 per year
