Position Summary

We are looking for an Accountant to join the Finance team eager to make a quick impact on the team. The successful candidate will take part in our day-to-day operations and will work directly with the Controller on month end close and corporate reporting. We’re looking for organized thinkers who can juggle multiple projects and develop new ways we can improve our current processes. This is a great opportunity to join a small team helping to scale a high growth education company.

Responsibilities

• Perform critical accounting functions such as recording, reconciling and analyzing G/L account transactions.
• Assist the Finance team in the preparation of month end close journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis (for example: accrued expenses, fixed assets, prepaids, deferred revenues, payroll, intercompany, etc.)
• Cross train to serve as backup for billings and collections.
• Assist with tax filings and audits.
• Complete ad hoc projects such as. researching and documenting issues, supporting system conversions, and other special projects as needed.
• Learn how to operate all types of accounting operations of a medium sized startup.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance with 7+ years of accounting experience in a similar position.
• Experience in GL, account receivables, accounts payable, tax, and payroll.
• Experience with a few different accounting software programs.
• Previous work experience in the SaaS industry is a plus.
• Understanding and experience working with financial statements audits.
• Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work products.
• Open minded, curious, looking to create efficiencies and eager to learn!
