Job Description:

Under direction of the Associate Executive Director, Department of Nursing, or designee

  • participates in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the nursing scheduling practices, nursing agency management and nursing office operations the hospital
  • assumes responsibility for planning, directing, organizing and evaluating programs of orientation, training and continuing education for nursing agency personnel in conjunction with nursing education.
  • Assumes responsibility of day-to-day operations of the nursing office.
  • Assesses nursing office operations by auditing nursing schedules monthly for completeness, timeliness and an efficient assignment of nursing
  • personnel reflecting a balanced schedule prior to the addition of agency resources.
  • Participates in implementing an effective system of clinical and administrative nursing records and reports tracking unscheduled leaves, OT & agency utilization; including OT & agency cancellations.
  • Tracks & trends unscheduled leaves, including agency and OT cancellations.
  • Works with nursing leadership on appropriate counseling/follow-up with involved staff.
  • Tracks & trends agency utilization as relates to active FTE counts per division/unit to maintain budgeted number of resources in totality.
  • Develops/maintains scheduling practices that ensure the accuracy of nursing staffing schedules on a daily basis.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Education: Required: New York State RN License, Primary Source Verification, AHA BLS,

Certifications & Licenses:

BLS

Excel Proficiency

RN

RN License
