Responsibilities:

• Advise and assist the Residency Director in matters related to behavioral medicine and wellness as they relate to residency education
• Oversee the development and integration of the longitudinal aspects of the Family Medicine Residency Behavioral Health Curriculum to ensure all ACGME requirements for resident education in this area are met including direct observations, preventive programming, identifying physician impairment and physician wellbeing, and communication
• Provide primary care psychology services to patients of Erie Family Health Centers and assist family medicine residents, faculty, and other providers in accessing therapeutic intervention resources
• Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate all aspects of the Behavioral Medicine and Wellness programs of the Northwestern Family Medicine Residency Program at Erie Humboldt Park
• Organize and manage the Resident Behavior Health Block Rotation. Along with program coordinator manage relationships and maintain auxiliary training sites
• Regularly participate in evaluation and direct observation of the residents as they see their patients as well as assist in orientation of new first-year residents
• Develop and present Behavioral Medicine topics as part of the weekly Resident didactic session; arrange for guest speakers to teach topics in the curriculum requiring specific areas of expertise; and assist residents as they work on their required scholarly projects .

Requirements:

• PhD, Psy.D or Masters degree in a Behavioral Health Discipline, licensed in Illinois
• Board certification highly preferred in LCPC or LSW
• 5+ years of experience working within medical/ clinic setting or 1 year of Behavioral Health Consultant on a FQHC primary care team
• Strong communication, organization, written, and team-building skills
• Demonstrated cultural competency working with vulnerable and diverse communities, in a low income, minority environment
• Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) preferred or willingness to complete immersion
• Local travel required, valid Illinois drivers license and automobile insurance required
