 eSkillz is looking for a Compensation and Benefits Specialist to enhance our Human Resources Division. We are looking for an experienced Compensation and Benefits Specialist to assist with managing monthly payroll processing, employee onboarding and data management, and benefits deployment and support. The ideal candidate is first and foremost experienced with Excel data management and ADP administration. This person will enjoy a diverse workload and receive directives from internal management. Additional duties may involve supplying employees with manuals, booklets, forms, provider information, and any other relevant information regarding benefits. This is a 100% remote position with travel at staff’s discretion. ​

Primary Duties

• Coordinate with current payroll and benefits manager to address payroll and benefit requests
• Answers policy and procedure questions via help desk ticketing system or Microsoft Teams
• Assists with development, implementation and management of new employee benefits
• Investigates and resolves complex payroll problems according to FLSA, State Wage and Labor Code, INS and IRS regulations, and company policies and procedures
• Performs online processing of data from multiple systems to create a payroll report 3 times a month to submit for payroll completion
• Processes termination and offboarding documents and conduct exit interviews
• Submit requests for special handling or routing of checks
• Sorts, prioritizes, reviews for accuracy and processes incoming payroll/personnel documents
• Audits I-9 documents to ensure compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) requirements
• Follows up on problem I-9’s
• Recommends updates according to tax treaties and keeps home department informed of all tax treaty changes
• Processes end of year tax documentation
• Processes new-hire packages, exceptions, transfers and promotions
• Complete state tax ID setup and processing
• Researches missing documentation or discrepancies
• Processes, verifies and updates direct deposit applications, pre-notifications and changes in check depositions
• Prepares periodic reports for management on matters such as the number and nature of problems with returned documents
• Use ADP to review potential account issues

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree or higher in HR/Accounting or 2-4 years related experience
• Experience: 2-4 years of general payroll or accounting related experience
• 2-4 years ADP administration experience
• 2-4 years health insurance benefits including HSA management
• 2-4 years 401k, retirement planning, other benefits

Skills and Knowledge

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Help Desk or ticketing system experience
• Advanced Microsoft Office Excel
• Advanced ADP management
• Multi-state Labor Laws research
• Health insurance implementation, including HSA management
• Preferred project management system knowledge: Teamwork Projects
• Preferred system knowledge (any): ADP, Paycom, Sage, WorkDay, Rippling, PeopleHR, Harvest, QuickBooks
• Ability to work with people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and seek to find common ground to foster inclusion within the work environment.
• Ability to create clear, engaging guides and documentation
• Willingness to be an advocate for employee concerns during meetings with Executive and Division Management.
• A desire to teach and the flexibility to learn.
• Thorough and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
