Staff Accountant

Requirements: BSBA in Accounting, Minimum 5 years experience in general accounting position. Must have ERP General Ledger experience, Intermediate excel spreadsheet skills, journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, variance analysis, hands on AP and AR processing, strong communication skills specifically written, Quickbooks experience beneficial, consolidation experience beneficial.

Company/ Position

Privately held company in the Southern Massachusetts is searching for a strong accounting professional to help our Controller ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions and controls across several related organizations. This NEW position will join our existing Finance/Administrative support team to capture, record, track, research, analyze and reconcile transaction/data while ensuring critical records are filed with appropriate governing parties. Must be familiar with a multi-entity reporting environment and be able to wear multiple hats.

Some specifics this position will address are:

• Responsible for transactional activities of Property Holding companies, including timely payment of property, real estate taxes
• Journal entries preparation, submission and filing for multiple entities.
• Monthly Reconciliation of assigned Balance Sheet Accounts,
• Assist in weekly update of Capital Spending and Monthly reconciliation of Fixed Assets/ Depreciation
• Review of G/L expenses and proposals for accruals
• Monthly reporting of interest expense, interest paid,
• Daily download, monthly reporting and journalizing of identified banking transactions
• Preparation of periodic invoicing documentation
• Completing transactional controls for new supplier/freight carriers/customers within our ERP
• Excel tracking, reporting and analysis of various sales, margin, inventory data
• Update of periodic pricing changes in ERP
• Assist in weekly Time & Attendance collection of data
• Financial analysis of accounts, transactions, creation of pro-forma “what if”
• Assisting Transportation Operation with periodic Fleet permitting
• Entry of Inventory movements requiring manual verification (transfers, adjustments)
• Assist in month end physical inventory, reconciliation and closing of assigned entities

This position is a direct report to the Controller with supervision /review from others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
