About the Position:
The Office of Diversity and Equity supports the CSUF mission of preparing our diverse student body for academic and professional success. We develop and support practices, programming, and policies across the broad spectrum of inclusivity, equity and civility for the CSUF campus community. Through the provision of consultation and training, we strive to promote a campus community wherein students, staff and faculty are engaged in the values of inclusive excellence. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Executive Support/Department Operations Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Non-Exempt). Under the general supervision and direction of the Assistant Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity the Executive Support/Department Operations Analyst is responsible for the coordination of the office functions, administrative support, and budget support. The Executive Support/Department Operations Analyst will work closely with Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity programs leadership in preparing forms and monitoring expenditures for department; compile and analyze financial data to assist in allocating resources; prepare projections; and process expense claims, check requests, and purchase requisitions. The Executive Support/Department Operations Analyst will also review and evaluate fiscal planning for DIEP activities, programming, and events; support collaboration with campus and community partners on coordination of programming and events; and reserve event venues and place catering orders. Additional responsibilities include administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity; drafting routine correspondence; responding to customer inquiries via email, telephone, and in person; and training and leading student assistants. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs. Working knowledge of the general practices, program or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit or administrative specialty. Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic methods and procedures used for research and statistical analysis. Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, handle multiple priorities, and organize and plan work assignments. Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of related administration coordination experience. Working knowledge of operational and budget analysis and techniques. Knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
Skill in the research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Experience in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.
