ExpressPoint has a full-time opportunity for a Plant Manager in our Grove City facility. This position provides leadership and direction to the Electronics Repair, Logistics, Quality Assurance and Engineering departments in the assigned plant. Ensures all deliverables meet or exceed customer expectations along with company quality and financial requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides leadership to achieve and maintain effective safety and environmental performance.
• Plans Production, Engineering and Logistics operations, establishing objectives, strategies and priorities.
• Works with Program Managers to understand customer requirements for repair and fulfillment, and ensures processes are developed and documented in accordance with those requirements.
• Works with Production Supervisors and Production Planners to prepare operational schedules and coordinate repair activities to ensure production meets fulfillment requirements.
• Develop and implement plans to efficiently utilize materials, labor and equipment.
• Estimate operation costs; determine operation schedules; recommend process adjustments and improvements.
• Responsible for plant assets.
• Ensure a high level of profitability through accomplishment of sales targets, adequate staffing levels, training, internal and external growth in order to achieve company goals.
• Direct P&L responsibilities. Responsible for achieving Gross Margin goals.
• Participate in development of fiscal budgets.
• Manage and develops new business opportunities and strategies.
• Ensures all testing and repair equipment is maintained in operating order and complies with all standards and guidelines.
• Ensures all production output is per technical specifications and meets or exceeds quality requirements.
• Continually improves efficiency and minimizes cost through improved testing or repair capabilities.
• Maintains organized, cleaned and efficient Production and Logistics areas.
• Ensures timely receipt, production, packaging and shipment of products.
• Ensures processes are developed and adhered to which promote process efficiency and product control.
• Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, production, logistics and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Prepares, analyzes and interprets reports on production, logistics or other activities in order to maintain organizational communications.
• Develops contingency plans to deal with unexpected events in order to facilitate effective functioning under a variety of circumstances.
• Travel to attend company meetings or other events, as required.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and motivating employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Maintain a continuous improvement philosophy based in scientific methodologies such as Six Sigma, Five “S”s and Lean Manufacturing.
• Supports management teams in other ExpressPoint office locations regarding performance of non-direct employees residing in the Columbus, OH plant.
• Works with other Plant and Corporate Management to ensure best practices are communicated and implemented across plants.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university in business or engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience OR
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
• Six Sigma or Lean methodology training preferred

Experience

• Previous supervisory and/or management experience required
• Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
