Responsibilities:

• Provides performance management guidance to local management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
• Conducts cultural and engagement surveys for newly affiliated practices to gauge HR business needs.
• Oversees annual focal review processes by training managers and leads as appropriate, ensures meetings are handled timely and pay increases initiated to payroll department.
• Provides recruiting oversight and staffing benchmarks as needed to support business operations.
• Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies, to include, but not limited to turnover metrics, OT monitoring, onboarding data, exit interview data, recruitment, and hiring practices.
• Works closely with corporate HR support staff to aide in their development.
• Assists with overall process improvement for the continued development of a centralized HR department, centers of excellence.
• Works closely with local practices to ensure overtime controls/management.
• Maintains presence at local practices weekly/bi-weekly and travels to any out of state practices monthly/quarterly.
• Implements global HR initiatives in conjunction with Regional HR team.
• Reporting monthly on all trackers (incidents, certifications, COVID cases, work comp, etc.)
• Creates standard and ad hoc reports for various internal and external stakeholders.
• Travels additional time as needed to handle sensitive and urgent employee relations issues.
• Creates and manages a core set of practice job descriptions.
• Assists in general open enrollment processes for benefits each year.
• Completes compensation analysis and oversees succession planning initiatives to gauge workforce planning and identify gaps within the practice.
• Initiates memo policy changes as needed and updates handbooks appropriately.
• Serves as a neutral third party to investigate employee grievances, complaints, and other employee relation matters.
• Conducts exit interviews for key roles as needed.
• Serves as the subject matter expert for local and state employment laws for the designated region(s); stays abreast of ongoing changes to employment law regulations.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Works closely with practice administrator, corporate management, and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
• Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
• Assists Regional Operations with employee development initiatives such as continued training programs per practice and quarterly continuing education meetings.
• Conducts ongoing meetings with business practice administrator and management as needed.
• Consults with practice management and Regional Operations Directors, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
• Manages and serves as a trusted advisor to resolve complex employee relations issues.
• Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
• Develops and assists with employment terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
• Identifies training needs for practice and individual coaching needs.
• Routes employees to designated points of contact at the HR centers of excellence.
• Assists with unemployment, workers compensation, and benefits administration until fully centralized.
• Exercises discretion and independent judgment in complicated and sensitive employee relation matters.
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
• Works collaboratively with other Regional HR leaders for special projects as needed.
• Contributes to the team effort by completing special projects and tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Business/Human Resources preferred or the equivalent years related experience required.
• 3+ years of HR Leadership experience required.
• Multi-state/site HR experience preferred
• HR Designation/Certification from SHRM or HRCI required; or have ability to sit for the exam within first 6 months.
• Ability to travel overnight as required for designated region (plane/car).
• Healthcare HR experience a plus but not required.
• Strong understanding of HR Generalist duties.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
• Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team and drive performance improvement, demonstrated by progressive increases in management responsibility.
• Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams.
