Department – 302 Family Medicine, LLC

Reports to – Michelle Bretzius, D.O.

Employment Status – Temporary Full-Time Part-Time

Effective Date – 11/7/2022

ABOUT THE COMPANY
302 Family Medicine, LLC is a female-owned, single-physician, Family Medicine practice opening for business in November 2022. We are seeking energetic, skilled, and hard-working individuals to fill the role of Medical Assistant to help our practice establish and grow. We are a full-scope Family Medicine practice and will see patients from birth to end of life as well as perform minor office procedures and well-women exams (Pap tests, etc.). There are currently 2 positions available and preference will be given to applicants who would be willing to fill both clinical and non-clinical roles, including patient triage, reception, scheduling, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant is responsible for skills encompassing patient care and related tasks under the direction of a Doctor, Registered Professional Nurse, or a Licensed Practical Nurse. The Medical Assistant works closely with patients and medical staff to help orchestrate an environment of care within this Family Medicine practice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Delivering direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established procedures
• Documenting history; recording and reporting pertinent observations and patient reactions to staff, as appropriate;
• Communicating results of testing or other messages to patients as directed by physician or other staff
• Triaging patients, including medical history review, and observing and documenting patient vital signs as required – includes manual blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, etc.
• Administration of vaccines, including adult and pediatric, and medications as directed
• Maintaining quality results by running standards and controls of appropriate in-office equipment
• Completing prior authorizations for medications and procedures as directed
• Training other medical assistants or other workers as appropriate
• Assisting with or instituting emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment
• Performing other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education required
• Current Medical Assistant Certification
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA confidentiality, infection spread, etc.). Additional training will be included in onboarding process.
• Exemplary customer service experience including patient relationships and job knowledge
• Excellent oral and written communication skills – basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and similar programs preferred. Basic knowledge of using electronic medical records preferred but additional program-specific training will be provided during onboarding.

• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively; ability to critically think
• Ability to be empathetic with patients; ability to maintain confidentiality
• Preference given to applicants who are willing to work in both clinical and non-clinical capacities, such as assisting with reception, scheduling, etc.

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
