Family Source Consultants matches and facilitates Gestational Surrogacy and Egg Donation arrangements in the United States and internationally. Working closely with each client allows us to ensure that arrangements are customized to meet the specific needs of prospective parents, surrogates, and egg donors.

Family Source Consultants seeks a Medical Records Specialist to join our supportive and thriving team. The ideal Medical Records Specialist will possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and maintaining medical records for gestational surrogates and work in partnership with the Match Management Team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and security with all confidential information
• Receive and process requests for surrogate medical records and information in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Maintain working knowledge of internal database and CRM program
• Responsible for safeguarding surrogate records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards
• Prepares new files, gathers documents and information from paper sources and/or electronic health record
• Ensures medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete
• Creates digital images of paperwork to be stored in the electronic CRM system
• Answering of inbound/outbound telephone calls
• Responsible for administrative duties such as managing faxes, opening mail, and data entry
• Processes requests for release of information by locating and retrieving the corresponding protected health information in a timely and efficient manner
• Prepare and mail physical, hard copy records when required
• Other duties and projects as assigned or required

Skills and Experience Required

• Prior Medical Records or Medical Front Office experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Exude professionalism that is apparent within work ability, personality and appearance
• Must have a solution-oriented mindset
