The City of Leawood, Kansas will be accepting applications for the Fire Prevention Lieutenant until May 9, 2022.
The Fire Prevention Lieutenant position is a benefits eligible 40 hours a week non-exempt position; health, dental, vision and retirement benefits. The Fire Prevention Lieutenant is eligible to receive merit based pay increases every year and a Time In Service Bonus every three years of employment based upon the employee’s anniversary date.
Summary/Objective
The Fire Prevention Lieutenant performs a variety of technical and specialty work within the Fire Prevention Division under the direction of the Division Chief of Prevention/Fire Marshal. This includes public education, fire code enforcement, fire investigations, and other technical services necessary for Fire Department operations. This position responds to incidents in a timely and effective manner when requested by the Incident Commander or Fire Marshal; operates safely on emergency incidents while following accepted NIMS / ICS standards; understands and carries out assignments as instructed; works as a member of a team or independently when required to achieved assigned tasks. This position requires independent judgment and broad technical proficiency with a moderate level of review and guidance.
