GENERAL SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for various accounting applications of the Bank and Company. Performs most assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.
DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Responsible for performing various accounting functions as assigned in accordance with internal controls, procedures and policies of the accounting department.
- Performs various procedures related to month end closing process including yield analysis, income & expense variance analysis, prepaid expense posting and reconciliation, affiliate billing, and preparing and recording recurring journal entries.
- Prepares general ledger account reconciliations as assigned.
- Prepares monthly financial statements for Board of Directors and management, including consolidating statements.
- Prepares other various financial statements, reports and analysis as assigned.
- Prepares special reports and analysis as requested.
- Reviews data contained in the general ledger and various sub-systems to ensure accuracy and reasonableness of recorded financial transactions; researches questions regarding general ledger information from various personnel.
- Acts as back up for various accounting functions as assigned.
- Completes required training associated with job functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Professional level of knowledge of accounting.
- High level of interpersonal skills so as to effectively communicate issues to employees, management and outside vendors.
- Good analytical skills in order to analyze financial and procedural data.
- Adequate knowledge of internal policies and procedures and any respective laws and regulations governing accounting functions to ensure performance of job duties within the proper control environment.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3+ years of accounting work experience preferred.
