This First Vehicle location services vehicles and equipment for Florida International University (FIU), where we repair their fleet of Ford Trucks, Cutaway Vans, Explorers, F-150, F-250, F-350, Taurus, Focus. As well as International Altec, Farber Buses, Chevy Silverado’s, Suburban, Tahoe’s, Malibu’s, Sonics, Golf Carts, EZ-Go, Club Carts, Kawasaki, Kubota, Cushman, Lawn Mowers, Toro, Tractors, and Hollandale vehicles.

Diesel Mechanic Benefits

• $25 – $27 hourly wages are based on previous experience and
• An additional $.10 per hour for each ASE certification you possess or obtain!
• The shift for this role is Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

About the Diesel Mechanic Position

As a Diesel Mechanic with First Vehicle Services, you will help maintain and repair vehicles to ensure customer safety. Other major job duties include:

• Take the lead on preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, engines, drivetrains, transmissions, and other repairs.
• Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
• Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.

Qualifications for Diesel Mechanic

• Valid driver’s license required.
• At least 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair employment experience or a combination of technical school education & experience.
• Strong diagnostic skills and problem-solving ability
• Mechanic’s toolset
• ASE certifications are preferred. Must be willing to participate in the company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided!
• Be subject to a drug test.
