Physician Assistant Program Director and Associate Dean
Florida State University College of Medicine, in partnership with the national search
firm, Scott Healy & Associates, invites
applications and nominations for the position of Physician Assistant Program Director and Associate Dean. The College of
Medicine seeks an experienced and dynamic leader to serve in this full-time appointment as Program Director and Associate Dean for its
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Practice. The Program Director will be responsible for program oversight and leading the program to
continued ARC-PA accreditation. This is a 12-month faculty appointment and rank will be commensurate with academic credentials and
experience; tenure is based on approval.

for the operation and accreditation of the Physician Assistant Practice Master’s Degree Program. The Program Director will perform duties
assigned by the Dean and other duties to include the following:

The Florida State
University College of Medicine was created in June of 2000 with the mission of serving the unique needs of Floridians. The College welcomed
its first 30 students, the Class of 2005, in May 2001, and the college has since continued to grow toward full enrollment of nearly 500
students. The College was designed as – and remains – a community-based medical school. The students spend their first two years
taking basic science courses on the FSU campus in Tallahassee and are then assigned to one of the regional medical school campuses for their
third- and fourth-year clinical training. Early clinical experiences in community settings have been a curricular component of the program
since the beginning, in addition to a culture that values group study, teamwork, patient-centered medical care, and service to others.

The mission of the School of Physician
Assistant Practice is to educate and prepare physician assistants to practice patient-centered healthcare in any clinical setting and to
be responsive to community needs, especially through service to elder, rural, minority and underserved populations throughout the state of
Florida. Our faculty of PAs, physicians and biomedical scientists continue to develop a world class program that will create excellent
physician assistants, who practice evidence-based, patient-centered healthcare.
The 27-month, 7-semester, 111 credit hour program was
designed to prepare graduates to practice medicine as part of the Physician-PA Team. Upon completion, graduates will receive the Master of
Science in Physician Assistant Practice degree. The PA Program at FSU is extremely challenging with a strong emphasis in the biomedical
sciences, simulation and procedural skills. Although challenging, it comes with a welcoming environment and an unrivaled network of support
provided by an inter-professional team, who is committed to the academic and professional success of its students.
