Field Service Technician (Generator Tech) – Essex County, MA

The primary function of a Generator Service Technician is to keep emergency power equipment well serviced, operable and reliable, in preparation for failure of commercial power. The generator technician repairs and maintains electric generators, switchgear, electronic controls and diesel, and gas engines. Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs for fuel delivery, ignition, lube oil, cooling, and exhaust systems are included, as well as engine and component repairs. Additionally, the technician will diagnose, disassemble and examine parts for defects and excessive wear. This is a customer focused role. You will be building rapport, keeping customers informed and ensuring satisfaction. This is an independent role, our Generator Technicians work primarily out of their homes with strategically located parts warehouses. Truck, cell phone, laptop, gas card, PPE all provided. As a 24/7 emergency service provider, the position will require travel, nights and weekends. You will be working during storms, severe weather, and other disasters. Compensation is excellent with eligible benefits from the date of hire, including health and dental.

Ideal work experience will include:

• Comprehensive electrical-mechanical skills
• Ability to read and follow electric schematics and drawings
• Experienced at performing testing with multi-meters and amperage clamps
• Maintains own tool inventory adequate to complete assigned repairs
• Minimum 1-2 years experience servicing industrial generators and transfer switches (ideal)
• Computer literate
• Identifying potential problems ahead of time and being proactive in implementing solutions

Location: Essex County, MA

Compensation: You are paid door step to door step and receive overtime at time and half. Techs average 55 hours per week + On Call Bonus + Company vehicle, gas card, company credit card, tool allowance, cell phone, laptop, and extensive training and benefits!!!!

Travel: This is primarily a day shift position with some on-call and after hour responsibilities as needed. Travel is within the region and you are home every night with little to no overnight travel.
