What you’ll be able to do:
Connectivity & Cloud Delivery is seeking a Software Engineer to define/develop/launch and support connected vehicle features including Vehicle Launches for the Joint Venture (JV) initiatives with multiple OEMs, Vehicle Health Gateway (VHG) Application, Vehicle Data Decoding Services and Test Simulators (Smart Simulators, TDKs).

• This role is very critical and visible in the current product team under Connectivity & Cloud Delivery (C2D) within Enterprise Connectivity (EC).
• Interacts with various global cross functional teams to deliver the state-of-the-art features and products in Ford Connectivity ecosystem.
• Responsible for analyzing, designing, launching new features/products and supporting current production features/enablers in the Connectivity & Cloud Delivery team.
• Development, testing, deployment and maintenance of Device Configurator (DC) and Change Home URL (CHURL) service
• Responsible for end to end ongoing production support of feature integration into the Ford Enterprise Connectivity
• Support and works with cross functional groups to develop interoperability interfaces across sub systems and translate them into sub system level requirements for building state-of-the-art connected vehicle systems architecture
• Provide guidance and inputs for software design verification plans working with requirements engineering teams and feature owners
• Responsible for supporting production issues and management tools to multiple sub systems
• Maintaining open requirements issue list, review, track and report on progress and status in the project management tools (JIRA)
• Establishment and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assigned features
• Create test plans, reports and manuals
• Triage application issues during different phases of the project
• Effectively coordinating with internal and external teams for Integration testing, Quality Control, Release Management, Production Support initiatives by directly or indirectly fulfilling tasks.
• Building, Sharing and Managing knowledge Assets to for personal functional excellence as well as fostering that of colleagues and enhancing initiative that spans over multiple environment (Vehicle, Cloud, Mobile) for end-to-end feature delivery.
• Ensuring quality of the features and products using PDO model, Agile best practices and test-driven development principles.
• Enhancing and governing the current products, Vehicle Launches for the Joint Venture (JV) initiatives with multiple OEMs, Vehicle Health Gateway (VHG) Application, Vehicle Data Decoding Services and Test Simulators (Smart Simulators, TDKs)
• Responsible for end to end ongoing production support of feature integration into the Ford Enterprise Connectivity

The minimum requirements we seek:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• 4+ years for experience in Vehicle Connectivity and Cloud Delivery.
• 6+ years of experience developing REST and GRPC microservices
• 5+ years of experience in Spring/Java, SQL and No-SQL database and messaging system
• 5+ years of experience in .Net/C# Technology and Azure Cloud Platform
• 5+ years of mobile and web applications (Android, HTML, JS, Angular and Bootstrap)
• 6+ years of Jira and Rally and Agile Methodology
• 3+ years of experience in data archiving and compliance field

Our preferred requirements:

• 6 years of experience in different phases of the Software Development cycle including Requirement analysis, Design and Testing of the Automotive Infotainment and Connected Vehicles Systems.
• 6 Years of experience in Agile Software Development
• Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Methodologies like Product Driven Organization (PDO), Agile and Scrum.
• Strong troubleshooting skills via analyzing the logs from databases, applications error logs, and Splunk logs and tracking defects/issues in SharePoint, Rally & JIRA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for overall production support
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment and ability to work under aggressive timelines and sporadic heavy workloads
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with support personnel, application development personnel, vendors and management
• Be a self-learner of newer concepts and application development best practices and trends
• Possess sustainability against changing demand from internal & external business requirements
• Be accustomed to operating agile and quickly to meet customer product demand
• Above all willingness to dive into details to solve system integration challenges
• Knowledge of Ford’s Connected Vehicle Ecosystem.
• Knowledge of vehicle to cloud connectivity or knowledge of Internet of Things.
