What’s the Job?

Peoria’s Development and Engineering Department has an exciting opportunity for a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project Manager I that will work in the Engineering Services Division on water, wastewater and other small capital and/or operating budget funded projects. The position will work in a fun and family oriented culture alongside a talented group of professional engineers, and project managers. Customer service and relationship building skills are a highly valued assets as the position must build positive relationships with internal client departments, engineering consultants, and highly qualified general contractors and subcontractors.

In addition to being a results oriented people person, here are a few more the job requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience in design, construction, facilities management, or a closely related field
• Experience reading, comprehending, and technical reviews of construction plans
• Exposure to design and/or construction proposals, Gantt style construction schedules, and construction cost estimates
• Experience with coordinating, monitoring, or managing the progress of design and/or construction projects
• Exposure to the sequence of construction activities on an active construction site
• A competency in financial record keeping and analysis (of fee proposals, cost estimates, project budgets, pay applications and change orders)
• Experience in a municipal or government setting is not essential.

The Idead candidate for this position:

Has gained an understanding of the design and construction process from prior project coordination experiences in an engineering, construction, or facilities management setting. This position is supervised by an Arizona licensed Engineer, enabling credit toward professional licensure.
