ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support staffing and recruiting efforts at the Hebron Distribution Center
Follow up on all pre-employment activities such as drug screening and background checks, and I9’s
Conduct in-person On-Boarding presentations explaining Gates history, Benefits Program and general operations at the DC
Hire and Term employees in Oracle and Timecard
Track Pay Progression Program
Track employee vacation and sick time
Follow up with employees when they have been absent from work
Update bulletin boards with Safety, HR Benefits, Upcoming Programs and Job Bids
Pull staffing reports in Cognos and utilize Excel for tracking and project planning
Partner with external firms and agencies to assist with temporary and direct hires
Partners with managers and site leaders to track metrics, ensuring consistency of performance ratings and addressing performance concerns.
Payroll processing – Great opportunity to learn how to process payroll. We will provide training.
Promotes positive employee relations while ensuring compliance with employment laws.
Facilitates the Employee Survey and works closely with the leadership team to develop specific action plans, leading focus group process, ensuring ongoing communication and measuring progress to goals.
Manages and interprets policies and practices within the facility, ensuring fair and consistent interpretation and application.
Investigate and resolve employee issues
Support the leadership team in addressing performance and disciplinary issues in a consistent manner in line with policy and procedures
Communicates and deploys local and corporate HR initiatives.
Develops and maintains a culture of safety and environmental excellence. Ensures compliance with all HSE standards and initiatives, initiates and develops facility policies to ensure that HSE measures are implemented and maintained throughout the facility, oversees and leads HSE training for the facility, manages OSHA and HSE reporting and record keeping for the facility, leads investigations of environmental and safety non-compliance and ensures immediate corrective action.
Track and report HR metrics as requested at the facility or corporate level.
REQUIREMENTS:
1-4+ years experience as an HR Generalist or other related fields
1-4+ years experience in recruiting, onboarding and hiring
Must have Microsoft Product experience, Word, PP, Excel, Outlook, Teams
Comfortable presenting in front of people (New Hire Orientation)
Excellent written and verbal communicator with strong presentation skills, effectively handles conflict
Previous experience in any HRIS, preferably Oracle
Needs to be self directed, resourceful (can utilize company portal to find policies and procedures)
Bachelors Degree Preferred
