Contract 3+ years, 40 hours weekly
This position is for a field test software engineer that integrates and operates mission test infrastructure systems during field demonstration events. This developer also integrates and maintains hardware and software systems, helps automate experimental data dissemination and collection and integrate hardware-based avionics systems.This position is not a core programming and coding type role. It is very much focused on software integration and test integration. The person will be doing coding/programming on a smaller scale as it relates to integrating various systems with each other, pulling data from these systems through reporting, and in creating visual dashboards for the reporting.
This position is predominantly onsite and is onsite 4 or 5 days a week.
Interim clearance is fine.
The Tactical Networks Group specializes in advanced network and communications systems development, with a focus on tactical mobile, military airborne networks of the future. The Tactical Networks Group uses a combination of technical analysis, modeling, simulation, emulation, prototype development, and flight evaluation to develop new communication systems and evaluate and predict their performance under expected conditions.
Required skills include:
* Experience developing for a Linux environment
* Developing software-based automation for monitoring, controlling and debugging flight hardware such as IMUs and radios
* 5+ years of experience of software development for custom avionics interfaces and military or commercial avionics standards such as ARINC-429, MILSTD-1553, SNMP is needed.
* High-level knowledge of hardware integration, installation and maintenance
* 5+ years of experience with Software programming skills, including a significant percentage of the following: C/C++, Python, MATLAB
*Knowledge and experience with networking protocols; especially in the area of network management.
* Knowledge and experience of ISSO Duties with COMSEC Clearance.
Preferred skills:
* Experience operating and maintaining field test infrastructure, especially avionics and communications systems
* Ability to have or maintain a Class III FAA medical certificate
