Who We Are
Venclexta (venetoclax) is within the hematology franchise and is a first-in-class BCL-2 inhibitor that has received multiple breakthrough designations for the treatment of hematologic malignancies. This novel medicine, which is co-promoted with our partner AbbVie, has multiple in-line indications across chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) as well as a robust pipeline of potential future indications. It is a driver for Hematology and a key molecule within the Genentech portfolio.

Role
The Senior Marketing Manager (SMM) will report into the Marketing Team Director and will focus on leading and executing key Venclexta initiatives in support of patient access and our CLL business.
In the area of access, the SMM will deliver market access strategies, resources and collaborations across access customer groups (population-based decision makers, healthcare systems, GPOs, payers, practice managers) and our ecosystem field partners. This will include driving belief in Venclexta’s Triple Aim value proposition and leading patient support program and GPO marketing efforts. In support of our CLL business, the SMM will also shape and execute Venclexta’s CLL strategy and deliver strategic projects and marketing tactics aligned to customer needs, primarily focused on HCPs.
The SMM will continuously develop and contribute essential marketing capabilities (e.g., brand positioning, content development, customer engagement, digital development, channel optimization) and business acumen (healthcare ecosystem marketing, customer knowledge) that enable the development and execution of product value propositions. This role will collaborate closely with the rest of the Venclexta marketing team, co-promote partners, cross-functional partners, and our healthcare ecosystem field teams.

Key Job Responsibilities
Contributes to overall market access strategy and drives streamlined execution across payers, providers, patients and trade in partnership with Abbvie, GNE Field teams, and internal cross-functional partners
Leverages Access expertise to translate high-level brand strategy into the development and execution of the product/TA value proposition, customer positioning, and the optimal end-to-end customer experience
Supports the development and execution of the product/TA value proposition, customer positioning, and the end-to-end customer experience. Supports the development and execution of the Genentech value proposition and the end-to-end organized customer experience.
Responsible for optimizing all marketing materials, including branding, messaging, and channel mix for target customers. Creates new materials when necessary to address a customer need.
Uses and commissions appropriate marketing research needed to drive the product’s overall market positioning and to inform the optimal end-to-end customer experience
Identifies and works regularly with internal network partners and external resources to deliver product marketing activities
Responsible for ensuring a seamless, well-integrated product message and position across multiple marketing platforms
Accountable for high quality, compliant execution across all marketing platforms and customer types (e.g. patients, providers, organized customers)
Prioritizes and creates personal messages and resources for field-based channels in coordination with non-personal messages and resources
Monitors marketing activity usage, performance, and customer satisfaction to optimize campaigns and drive customer and business outcomes
Partners with the Promotional Review Committee (PRC), including Legal and Regulatory, to ensure development, approval, and pull-through of compliant and effective promotional tactics
Leads and/or participates in flexibly deployed work teams across the CMG network, contributing novel ideas or approaches based on their areas of expertise Works autonomously to make decisions and act, in close alignment with the full product value proposition, customer positioning, and Squad priorities

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing / Business preferred
MBA or other related graduate level degree preferred
Experience
12-15 years of experience with the majority working in a product or access marketing function
Experience in the managed care, pharmaceutical or biotech industry/pharmaceutical or biotech field sales
Marketing experience in other relevant industries
Experience in creating marketing strategies, plans and tactics that have strengthened market positioning and driven high-value customer and business outcomes
