The Role:
As a member of GM’s Human Resources Group you will perform assigned business functions in day-to-day HR activities that aligns and supports our objectives, mission and culture. You will work strategically with assigned functional business leaders to improve working relationships, build engagement, increase output, attract and retain talent, including collaborating with COEs relative to strategic workforce planning.
Responsibilities:
Partner with Plant Leadership and Plant HR Team to ensure the HR strategy is incorporated into the business strategy
Utilize a data-based approach to understand trends/metrics and to develop relevant action plans that will support the attainment of our overall objectives
Partner with People HR to provide talent and performance management guidance to leadership (i.e. coaching, consulting, corrective actions, and crisis relations)
Support corporate culture and diversity programs, in addition to employee engagement activities (i.e. We Are GM, Workplace of Choice, etc.)
Consult with People HR and leaders to provide guidance on business unit optimization, specific transformation efforts, job design, workforce planning
Proficient in use of change management tools to drive change in a variety of complex situations
Communicate/educate business leaders on significant, relevant changes in HR policies and programs
Partner with Community of Expertise (COE) resources/shared service providers to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of HR services/programs
Partner with COEs to build effective working relationships and provide constructive field perspective to influence common processes and procedures
Provide a wide range of HR generalist and labor relation services to hourly, salaried, and leadership employees.

Additional Job Description
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in HR/related discipline and/or equivalent experience
Minimum 4 + years of related experience
Must be comfortable with data and can analyze, interpret, and make recommendations from it
Strong interpersonal skills in facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and work to plan
Highly proficient analytical, organizational, and project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Highly proficient use of HR Systems and computer software application skills
Leveraging COE’s/Shared Services (prefer exp. in these areas)
Influencing without authority (staff) assignments
Organizational development/change management projects
Experience with Excel, Workday
Preferred:
Master’s degree
