Job Description

The V2X & Battery Solutions organization within EVGRO is commercializing world class energy products and solutions that enable GM’s all electric future and the cost effective, efficient, and reliable adoption of electric vehicles. These include energy infrastructure assets (such as energy storage and integrated charging systems) vehicle to grid capabilities and software platforms needed to operate and aggregate these assets on the grid.

V2X & Battery Solutions is seeking to hire a Project Manager to lead specific energy storage project deployments within the organization. As described in details below, this exciting new position will be responsible for the delivery of installation projects on-time, on-budget, in a customer focused approach

Responsibilities

• Proactively work with customers, suppliers, partners, sales and management as necessary to ensure project deliverables and contract requirements are met
• Manage Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) strategy and oversee execution of contracted projects
  • Including contractors and sub-contractors to ensure budget, quality and schedule are met and to ensure safety guidelines and requirements are followed on job sites
• Enable issue resolution across teams to ensure projects deliver to quality, time, and cost
• Support subcontractor contract negotiations, including but not limited to development of State of Work (SOW) and Division of Responsibilities matrices (RASIC).
• On an as needed basis, support customer contract negotiations for all new and unique, or atypical business transactions to ensure that internal and external customer expectations are aligned.
• Maintain awareness of and identify procurement activities within the Energy Assets team which require expediting or leadership assistance to facilitate processing.
• Liaise w/ Purchasing & Supply Chain and others to maintain awareness of manufacturing capacity planning.
• Provide regular cadence of clear updates to leadership, to ensure awareness of progress including flagging areas of cost/schedule/technical risks.
• Support evaluation of construction methods to determine cost-effectiveness of plans and optimize value-engineering opportunities
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills / Experience / Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering, supply chain, or construction field required
• PMP certification strongly preferred
• Strong familiarity and/or formal training in project management principles
• 5+ years of experience in related industries required (power systems, utility, wind, solar, energy storage, or thermal energy) in project management, field operations, construction management, or engineering within the power generation market. Experience delivering a project to a Utility customer is a plus.
• 5+ years managing customer relationships, and must possess a relentless customer service mindset and a desire to take on time sensitive and challenging projects
• Safety training or other element of site safety related experience is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with proven track record of efficiently executing complex projects to completion at a high level of quality
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations
• Desire to work in a complex and evolving environment and to bring an innovation mindset. Comfort working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment is essential.
• Highly proficient in oral and written communication skills
• Previous experience deploying energy storage in multiple regions is desirable.
• Strong computer software skills, especially Microsoft Office, including familiarity with MS Project
• Willing to travel 20-30% of the time, as necessary to execute responsibilities of the position

COMPENSATION: The median level of salary compensation for this role is $113,111.
