Your Role Finding, telling, and selling stories. Gensler Public Relations (PR) is a networked global studio with connection to all regions across the firm. The Firmwide PR studio is responsible for overall positioning and earned media management that benefits all regions while building the global Gensler brand. This role will proactively pursue opportunities within the Health & Wellness and Science media landscapes across all of Gensler s Health Sector, which includes four areas of practice: Healthcare, Wellness, Senior Living, and Sciences. This role will break through the noise by finding, telling, and selling the stories of the Firm to reporters. As Global Media Specialist, you are ultimately responsible for building media relationships and supporting leaders in developing storylines that matter to our target client audiences. The Health Sector is Gensler s newest sector with a robust and growing client roster. The Health Sector is composed of a passionate team committed to changing the world through the power of design. The sector is a relatively new venture for Gensler and brings a scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset to the world s largest design firm. This impactful team thrives on thinking about news pegs and stories differently to align messaging across campaigns and the media landscape both internally and externally. Our team represents the Firm inside and out from how we conduct our own team meetings, to how we interact with client PR teams and agencies, and how talent is prepped and introduced to media. Our team is always selling the people, projects and process that propels the world s largest design firm to new heights setting new standards for the industry while bringing others along on the journey to truly change the world through the power of design. What You Will Do This role is a direct contributor and will grow into a strategic advisor to Health leaders across the firm. The ideal candidate will bring established healthcare media relationships to the team, has proven ability to establish new media relationships, and knows how to navigate various media markets. Most of your day-to-day will be pitching media, with a focus on conversion-to-interview Partner with the Health Sector and Practice Area Leaders on media strategies and conferences that will identify and reach their core audience(s) Write, contribute, and edit speaking points. Regularly edit quotes and bylines. Collaborate with regional and local leaders across offices and regions to help identify and articulate stories, and promote transformative work. Work with clients and partners on media agreements and responsibilities. Develop and host story mining sessions with Practice Area Leaders Manage all aspects of media interviews, prep, and follow ups Your Qualifications Public Relations moves swiftly to capitalize on the right now opportunities those opportunities shift by the day, sometimes by the hour, and you crave that part of the job. You have a starting roster of media relationships with proven ability to grow more. Bachelor s degree in Communications or related field required 4 years of professional communications experience Strong writing and analytical skills You know how to feature amazing talent and write compelling media pitches You geek out over media metrics and know how to report them internally Ability to navigate conflict with confidence and poise Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently Team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-growth environment Able to handle sensitive information and ensure confidentiality Life at Gensler Gensler is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion .
