This is a primarily remote position, with occasional visits to our office in Washington, DC.
Role Overview
As a Privacy Consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing full-time support to our Privacy Office. Collaborating closely with the Senior Consultant – Task Lead, OIGP leadership, and staff, you will ensure that agency information is protected in accordance with federal laws and policies throughout its lifecycle. Your responsibilities include Privacy and Compliance Support, Privacy Complaint Resolution, Amendment Support, Privacy Incident Management Services, and Privacy Strategic Planning and Programmatic Support. Effective communication with the Government CO, COR, and GPM will be essential.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize at least five (5) years of applied privacy policy and theory experience in the federal government sector.
Identify privacy-enhancing operations and technologies, implement privacy policies and compliance frameworks.
Independently draft comprehensive privacy compliance and transparency documents, including PIAs and SORNs.
Liaise with program/business, information technology, and information security personnel to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
Assess and improve complex programs, processes, and systems using various methods.
Demonstrate operational knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, tracking, and document management programs.
Maintain security credentials required for an ICE background investigation for an Information Technology (IT) Position, High Risk 6C.
Basic Qualifications
B.A. or B.S. degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
At least five (5) years of applied privacy policy and theory in the federal government sector.
Experience in drafting long-form, narrative privacy compliance documents (PIAs, SORNs).
Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
Other Qualifications
Strong verbal, written, computer, presentation, and communication skills.
Experience in a fast-paced law enforcement or DoD operational environment is a plus.
Current certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is a plus.
Current Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or greater certification is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
At least eight (8) years of applied privacy policy and theory in the federal government sector.
Knowledgeable in the mission of respective areas and considered a Subject Matter Expert in the ICE overall mission.
Private Sector Privacy experience.
