Global Community Charter School Hiring for Operations Manager – Charter School Job at New York, NY Full Time

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND POSITION OVERVIEW

The Operations Manager (OM) will implement and manage clear systems so GCCS runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. He/She will work to ensure all staff can focus on students rather than materials, supplies, etc. He or She will work with the Ops Team to optimize the school’s HR, facilities, and technology environment to ensure GCCS is a seamless and high-functioning learning environment. The OM will also be responsible for managing the school food program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

School Operations

• Lead all essential daily school operations functions, including food service, student databases, information technology, facilities, and liaison to Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT)

• With Family Coordinator, co-lead student recruitment activities, including creation of marketing materials and mailings

• Leads student registration/enrollment for all incoming students, keeping accurate and up-to-date records

• Manage IT hardware inventory, including distribution and collection of staff & student technology. Troubleshoot technological issues for staff and students.

• Oversee integrity student information systems and leads RFP for possible software replacement

• Support school ops team and Family Coordinator to ensure consistent and accurate data collection through the SIS, including student demographics, enrollment and family information

School Compliance

• Ensure accurate submissions of bi-monthly DOE per-pupil invoices

• Support payroll process and ensure accuracy of time keeping and main point of contact for benefits provider

• Works with the COO & CAO to complete all submissions for the school’s major data collection & reporting, e.g. BEDS day, SED Annual report

• Responds to document requests or grant submissions that require school-specific student information

School Administration

• Ensures that the school adheres to all local compliance and reporting requirements, per calendars and guidelines provided by NYC DOE, NYSED, US DOE.

• Assists in the collection and reporting of data related to federal, and state and school authorizer accountability targets

• Oversee HR administrative functions, including recruitment screening, background checks, explanation of policies & benefits

• Manage staff onboarding process and benefits administration

• Additional support and assignments as directed by Chief Operating Officer

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s in Business Administration or equivalent preferred;
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role;
• Bilingual Spanish/English, preferred;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent computer skills, excel and office software in particular

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Motivation to take on the opportunities that come with running a growing school, approaching them with flexibility, a solutions-oriented mindset, and ability to persevere and think quickly;

• Prior experience with school operations desired

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $61,196.00 – $70,756.00 per year
