For over 70 years Global Industrial has been an industry leader providing private label and brand name industrial equipment and supplies to businesses throughout North America.
We carry over one million industrial, material handling and business products that are sold through our website, corporate sales people and full color catalogs. We are constantly increasing our product offerings to meet the diverse and changing needs of our customers. Our customers include small to large corporations, institutions, government agencies and consumers across North America.
* Accountable for delivering change management through process improvements and provides insights and counsel to Supply Chain, Category Leadership and the Vendor community. This includes providing Leadership with targeted operational continual improvement plans.
* Establish and lead monthly vendor performance process; including freight carriers.
* Evaluate vendors’ performance for compliance with company service and quality standards on a monthly basis; report and communicate results to leadership teams.
* Leverages analytical skills to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes with Company vendors.
* Drive internal discussions and action plans with Product Management, Logistics and Purchasing to reward compliant vendors and penalize non-compliant vendors.
* Manage vendor charge backs and prepare reports for management on a regular basis.
* Organize quarterly and annual vendor reviews on good performers with vendors, product managers, and purchasing.
* Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in business areas such as Product Management, Purchasing, Logistics or in a related area.
* Solid understanding of distribution center operations and category management.
* Prior supervisory, leadership skill preferred.
* Proven project management skills: conceptualizing, planning, estimating and executing.
* Proven track record of delivering high quality results in a timely manner
* Excellent negotiating, organizational & problem solving skills.
* Ability to work in a past paces, changing environment; excellent time-management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
* Proficient in MS Office and advanced Excel required.
