Summary
As Head of the Freight Forwarding Group, this position will oversee the operations of all Glovis America Freight Forwarding departments nationwide.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
- Responsible for managing the overall operations of Glovis’s freight forwarding departments including 2PL, 3PL, Maquiladora, and Inland Forwarding.
- Work closely with regional managers by supporting and leading freight forwarding activities.
- Facilitate business/operation efficiency and provide expertise to the departments.
- Pursue business development to increase/achieve FF business goals.
- Oversee FF Business Development team sales activity and support.
- Provide support in TFTs and to AHQ Business Development opportunities.
- Create/Develop/Proceed/lead new business projects.
- Manage the preparations for reports to top management.
Secondary Duties
- Manage all personnel, productivity, and activities within the department creatively and with a sense of urgency to develop customer-based solutions.
- Monitor, supervise, and manage working efficiency, KPI’s, and service contracts.
- Make recommendations for organizational development within the Freight Forwarding Group.
- Lead, coach, enforce, empower and direct reports to perform and achieve goals in line with Company values, overall strategy, and department goals while adhering to Company SOP and policies.
Tertiary Duties
- Represent Glovis as industry events or similar representation opportunities.
- All other duties as assigned
Compensation Range
- $165,000 – $185,000 per year

Qualifications
Skills
- Proven ability to lead, specifically at a sizable (1,000+ employee) company
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills utilized with both external and internal customers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude
- Highly Proficient PC skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Database Management Systems
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree is Required
- 8+ Years of Related Experience in Freight Forwarding, SCM, Logistics, and Leadership is Required
- 10+ Years of Experience in Freight Forwarding (Ocean/Air/Bulk), SCM, and Business Development is Highly Preferred
- 4 – 7 Years of Supervisory Experience is Required
