The incumbent of this position serves as the key advisor to the Director of DC National Guard, Government Operations and Staff by providing a variety of administrative management services essential to the mission and operation of the organization. This position also maintains a high level of confidentiality and security, along with responsibility for updating and enforcing the standard operating protocol procedures in support of this office/organization.

Qualifications
Knowledge of administrative policies and processes, management practices and of the administrative support services of DCNG and interrelationship with other District agencies, to establish and maintain office procedures and office practices and foresee administrative problems and requirements.
Sufficient knowledge of the goals, priorities and objectives of the National Guard to effectively support the administration and other staff in the accurate completion of daily operation requirements.
Knowledge of governing federal and District government policies, procedures, regulations and guidelines to assist in the preparation and processing of appropriate documents to expedite the accomplishment of organizational goals and objectives.
Employee must have knowledge of and ability to use computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc.
Incumbent must have the ability to communicate with diverse individuals including high level government officials.
Licensures, Certifications and other requirements
(a)Incumbent of this position must be able to obtain and maintain a completed National Agency Check Investigation (NACI) clearance.
(b)DC Government security clearance and background checks.
Job and Responsibities
Performs a wide range of complex assignments in support of the Director of DC National Guard (DCNG) administrative, programmatic, and executive responsibilities.
Oversees and coordinates the activities of the support staff on administrative assignments to ensure that actions of an administrative nature, originating within the office, are in compliance with established guidelines.
Acts as an intermediary for investigating critical and sensitive matters that may be of interest to the Director of DC National Guard (DCNG) such as budget and human resources.
Researches and/or analyzes problems, issues, and administrative requirements.
Provides expert analysis and advice on complex program and administrative issues.
Identifies relevant issues for the Director of DC National Guard (DCNG) consideration based on operations and changing program requirements.
Reports, performance reports, and future requirements for all areas of Information Management.
Provides database maintenance on the customer support database.
Manages and facilitates special projects for major program or administrative issues of broad impact.
Conceives and implements new initiatives and projects to strengthen, facilitate, and integrate programmatic and administrative operations.
Undertakes and/or participates in special projects, ongoing analyses, investigations, and initiatives that have high priority.
Performs complex analyses and written reports; leads special committees, workshops or other similar functions; initiates program and administrative reviews; and develops or fosters cross-agency activities.
Performs administrative program work that includes the day-to-day assessment and management of the Director of DC National Guard (DCNG) schedule, travel and day-today plans.
Provides coordination for the Director of DC National Guard (DCNG) meetings/conferences, prepares background information, and manages space and logistics.
Acts as facilitator/coordinator for the collection of information and data from subordinate offices, and insures that critical deadlines are met.
