Pay $28 – 35 per Hour, Company Car, Cell & per diem $150 / day (includes Hotel if needed).

Summary

The position will require the incumbent to lead the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications tower and support structures.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 21, have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Willingness to take hands on approach in leading their team through demonstration
• Knowing the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment
• Ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with 50 lb. load
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must have experience with all aspects of tower construction, tower mapping and antenna equipment
• Must have experience stacking self-support towers, install waveguide, antennas and microwave dishes
• Comtrain or equivalent certification in Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue Certification, OSHA trained, safety trained, RF Awareness and First Aid/CPR trained
• Highly organized and be able to effectively report verbally and written reports back to Manager
• Must have experience with completing “close out” packages
• Must have experience with customer interfacing and problem resolution
• Must have experience running crews of 2-5 climbers and solving team issues
• Must maintain level of excellence in crew’s quality of work and mindset.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions

• Manage the day-to-day activities of group of Tower Construction Technicians ensuring that a quality installation has been performed, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, load-hopping
• Climb and work on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing structural systems
• Analyze situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action
• Follow instructions accurately and complete assigned course of action
• Recognize safety hazards and perform duties in a safe manner
• Act as a team lead and mentor to less experienced Tower Construction Technicians

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be at site locations both on the ground and on building roof tops, sit, stand, walk, use both hands, and reach and raise items above the head, use fingers to feel and handle, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force of 50+ or more pounds.

Work Environment

Most work is performed externally, on-site, outdoors, with exposure to the elements of nature working under normal construction conditions. 95% of travel is required in support of this position. Approximately 5% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
