ABOUT US: Grand Leisure is an industry-leading supplier of outdoor patio furniture, accessories, and solar lighting in the North American mass retail market. With U.S. headquarters located in Madison, Wisconsin, we are a small(ish) but rapidly growing team of sales, design, and marketing aficionados, looking to add another ambitious design enthusiast to our team. Producing primarily steel, aluminum, and resin wicker outdoor furniture and accessories, we produce for most of the mass market and home improvement retailers in the United States and Canada.
ABOUT YOU: We are looking for an ambitious and self-motivated Senior Furniture Designer, someone who has the drive and energy to help us stay at the top of an increasingly saturated (and booming) industry. You are someone with prior experience as a patio furniture designer, which means you are very familiar with the trend, materials, research, design, development, and sales aspects involved with this position. You are a person who takes great pride in paying very close attention to the details and always looks for ways to grow both personally and professionally.
JOB DESCRIPTION: You will be responsible for managing the overall design strategy for several mass market retailers and will be directly involved in the entire development process from the initial research and analysis stage all the way through the final product presentations to each of the retailers. You will have the opportunity to assist in the development of new materials, help expand into new product categories, play an integral role in the direct communication with each of the retailers’ product development teams, and most importantly be a part of one of the fastest growing suppliers in the industry!
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS: The successful candidate is highly creative and self-motivated, first and foremost. You should have an education or background in Industrial or Furniture Design. 3D modeling, especially with Solidworks, is highly preferred and graphic design skills are a major plus, especially experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design. The successful candidate must also possess the ability to communicate their direction clearly and handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Furniture Design
5+ years’ experience in outdoor furniture design
Strong knowledge of Solidworks or Rhino 3D modeling programs
Ability to read 2D CADS
BENEFITS:
Full range of medical benefits, dental, vision
Life Insurance
Matching 401K
Flexible schedule
LOCATION: Ideally you already live in Madison, but if not, you are willing to relocate here (we’re convinced a Zoom meeting will never replace old school face-to-face brainstorming sessions!)
If this sounds like it could be a great fit for you, we look forward to hearing from you. Best way to reach out is to send us your info to the email address posted below.
Please send resume and portfolio via email (Attachments not to exceed 10MB)
NOTE: International candidates must hold a valid US working permit.
