Green Spring Farms, LLC is the farm management entity for Farmland LP that actively manages nearly 15,000 acres of diversified organic and conventional crops located in California, Oregon, and Washington states. Green Spring Farms is currently seeking a Resource Manager for our farming operations.

Job description

Green Spring Farms seeking a full-time Accountant (approximately a 30 minute commute from most parts of Salem, Corvallis, and Albany). Duties include overseeing daily accounting functions including payroll, A/P, A/R, preparing and entering journal entries, month- and year-end closes, banking, bank reconciliations, and other duties as assigned for multiple related companies. This position reports to the Controller and works closely with Farm management, outside advisors, and office support staff.

Responsibilities include:

• General ledger accounting
• Maintain fixed asset and depreciation records
• Track physical inventory of crops and reconcile physical inventory counts to accounting records
• Assist with month- and year-end closing activities
• Land Leases. Ensure accurate and timely payments to landlords for amounts owed. Maintain accurate accounting of Deferred / Prepaid Rent Income balance sheet accounts.
• Equipment Rental, Leases, and Loans. Maintain a record of the company’s equipment and its financing.
• Capital Expenditures and Fixed Assets. Maintain a record of the company’s fixed assets.
• Assist in special projects as necessary
• Crop Insurance. File crop insurance claims as needed.
• GAAP Accounting. Maintain the company’s financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements Include:

• B.S. degree in accounting.
• Three or more years’ experience in farming or manufacturing accounting, and solid understanding of accounting concepts
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with Centerpoint or similar farm accounting software is a plus
