STAFF ACCOUNTANT / ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

The position is with a real estate development, property management, and construction group in Greenwich, CT that owns an upscale hotel and restaurant in Southern Fairfield County CT. This person needs to be highly analytical with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment to complete projects on time while handling confidential information in a discreet, professional manner. This person also needs to be extremely organized and detail oriented.

Responsibilities for Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable:

• Primary responsibility will be working on our Restaurant, Retail and Operating Entities
• Performing general accounting including accounts payable and general ledger posting.
• Posting accounts payable from invoice to payment and distributing invoices to Department Managers for approval.
• Prepare and post Daily activity entries and Daily Management report.
• Maintain invoice files.
• Reconciliation of Vendor statements.
• Report directly to Assistant Controller
• Back up responsibilities will be with our construction and property management divisions

Skills/Qualifications: * 2-5 years’ experience in accounting/accounts payable. Not required, but preferred experience with Restaurants and familiarity with Micros Software a plus.

• Personal effectiveness and credibility, analytical, good communication skills, proficiency and flexibility. Ability to interact well with others in order to accomplish objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to communicate effectively (oral/written) pertinent information to all levels of management and field operations
• Duties require good independent judgment, initiative and ability to deal with general accounting issues related to a specific department or aspect of the accounting process.

• Micros (a plus)
• MS Word
• MS Outlook
• MS Excel
• Internet

LOCATION:
Southern Fairfield County CT

COMPENSATION: $65K – $75K annually commensurate with experience plus benefits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
