Job Description

As the Director of Supply Chain, you will lead North America’s material planning process and be responsible for orchestrating the development and implementation of strategies that optimize inventories for all substrates. This role will be responsible for an efficient supply chain operations including the end-to-end supply chain performance. Specific tasks include stock-out mitigation, working capital optimization, supply disruption mitigation, lean procure to pay procedures, effective supply planning with on time delivery management and processes to improve cash flows. This role will develop a high performing team that collaborates with business unit leaders to achieve sustainable reductions in the total cost of goods and services procured, with improvements in the quality and competitiveness of the supply base.

Major Responsibilities

• Provides strategic direction for the supply chain operations in North America by ensuring adequate materials management and uninterrupted supply
• Analyze safety stock investment plan stability and make recommendations to management such as network optimization, diagnostics, make vs buy and sku rationalization studies
• Facilitates the lean procure to pay process for efficient and effective material flow from supplier dock to manufactured finished good
• Understands the key drivers of inventory and seek to reduce overall inventory value while maintaining sufficient supply to support target fill rates
• Develops service level relationships with key stakeholders including operations, sales, customer service, finance, procurement, logistics and substrate planning functions
• Manages supply chain continuity focused on supplier reliability, supply utilization, risk management, supplier disruption, working capital commitments and outstanding purchase orders are tracking to on-time delivery targets
• Facilitates the S&OP meeting topics surrounding inventory availability and outlook of supply by distributing critical inventory reporting
• Monitors actual production vs. plan on a weekly basis, highlighting shortages in a timely manner and working with operations on resolutions
• Track associated KPIs and provide data and analytics to help drive the business forward and improve effectiveness
• Drive culture of analysis and execution taking ownership of identified issues in timely execution of supply planning to drive quantifiable solutions and positive business results
• Participates in long term strategic planning by providing critical thought to supply chain initiatives and monitors department budget.
• Interview and hire staff as needed, perform and/or oversee staff training, and perform annual performance evaluations and initiate disciplinary action if needed
• Lead team members in departmental activities including communicating instructions, training, achieving goals, and quick turnarounds for tasks requested by senior management
• Work with large amounts of data in fast-paced and automated environment
• Perform other duties as needed and directed by management

EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE

• Typically possesses a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 12 or more years of relevant experience. Masters degree (or equivalent) preferred.
