Operations Manager Warehouse Operation Night Shift

Hours: 6pm – 2:30am M-F, occasional Saturdays
Introduction:
Welcome to GSC Logistics Inc, a major transportation and drayage leader in the Ports of Oakland, Seattle, and Tacoma. We are seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to join our expanding team in Oakland, CA.
We are a large transportation company operating on the West Coast, specializing in drayage and transloading services. We are growing our market share and expanding our market reach.
Your title will be Warehouse Operations Manager. The responsibilities of this role include assisting in the design and implementation of our drastically increased cross-dock operation, including day-to-day staffing, workload assignment, facilities and equipment supervision, productivity strategy and professional development of our entire cross-dock team. You will be responsible for our two-night shifts, running seven days per week.
About the work:

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for this high volume, 2 ten-hour shift, 7 days per week operation cross-dock operation.
• Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with company and customer policies and procedures and continual process improvement.
• Drive employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where employees are involved and committed to the success of the operation.
• Help in managing a work force of between 250 and 450 regular employees and temporary employees.
• Help create and maintain safety, COVID, OSHA and other compliance programs.
• Work together with the managers of Customer Service, Equipment Control and other departments.

About you:

• You have at least 5 years in managing a cross-dock or analogous operation.
• You have demonstrated leadership skills.
• You have demonstrated skills in assisting in the professional development of your staff.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can communicate with a wide range of individuals, from the newest materials handler to the CEO.
• You are extremely self-motivated and are always striving for the best in yourself and your team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $84,000.00 – $86,000.00 per year
