Under general autonomy, provides management, leadership, coaching and mentoring to a team of logistics professionals
Manages logistics operations in a country, area, or for a specific global mode while providing expertise in controls and documentation for all types of moves
Works with Product Service Lines (PSLs) to identify needs and ensure inbound and outbound transportation are arranged to meet operational needs
Manages the performance of the service providers and looks at data over long periods of time to see trends
Forecasts trends and issues that may impact the future movement of goods from country to country, with detailed knowledge of legal and customs requirements for international trade
Assists in setting benchmarks for global volume and cost trends by mode
Develops and implements logistics strategies in line with regional initiatives for Halliburton’s overall goal
Oversees contract management and execution to include negotiating, setting price levels and/or approving significant contracts with logistics service providers
Provides sourcing expertise using logistics technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and laws to negotiate agreements
Must have full understanding of Incoterms and their impact
Manages complex strategic logistics projects through a combination of leadership and subject-matter expertise
Provides inputs and guidance to the finance and accounting (F&A) departments for forecasting
Job responsible for various managerial functions include:
Interviewing applicants
Training employees
Directing and assessing subordinate work
Performance management
Setting hours of work and handling employee grievances
Responsible for making decisions regarding employees’ performance
Requires completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems or Engineering and 7 to 10 years of experience in related field of logistics with all transport modes (Ocean, Air or Land) to include hazardous cargo movements
