ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Recruits, interviews, and assist with selection of employees for vacant positions.
Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward institutional goals.
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
Processes semi-monthly payroll, including reconciliation of reported time and time sheet approvals.
Advises department managers and employees of University policies regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs, and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Prepares presentations for managers and employees regarding human resources policies and practices.
Keeps records of benefits plans participation, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for internal and governmental reporting.
Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Studies legislation and arbitration decisions to assess industry trends.
Administers benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
REQUIRED-
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Business Management from an accredited college or university.
5+ years experience at a manager/director level in Human Resources.
