Advanced Level analysts are responsible for testing finished products, raw materials, and drug product components using established procedures and advanced chromatographic techniques (GC, HPLC). Review laboratory data and notebooks, and inspect the work of other analysts to ensure compliance. Provide appropriate feedback to management and prepare/review investigation reports, as required or requested.
Advanced level positions may also include the ability to independently develop, validate and write analytical methods for existing products and new projects following standard operating procedures. Advanced level analysts will train other personnel in the use of analytical methods, instrument operation and computer analysis of data, and assist in troubleshooting and solving problems.
In addition, advanced level will be responsible for calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining laboratory instrumentation and will ensure that testing complies with data integrity requirements, government regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
Advanced level: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry required plus 8-10 yrs. experience or Master’s degree plus 6-8 yrs. experience. Chromatography experience (ex. HPLC, UPLC, GC , LCMS) is a must. Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of contemporary laboratory practices and procedures; knowledge and skill in using computer software (ex. LIMS, LabX), to include spreadsheet, word processing, and database; knowledge and skill in operating various specialized laboratory equipment including HPLC and GC and associated software programs (ex. Empower, Waters). Strong organizational skills, leadership, teamwork, quality orientation and keen attention to detail, project management and problem-solving skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and computer skills.
Typical work schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
