Harcum College Hiring for Senior Staff Accountant at Bryn Mawr, PA Full Time

Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA, a leader among the nation’s independent associate degree colleges, has an immediate opening for a Senior Staff Accountant. The position has a  key role in the Business Office reporting to the Associate Vice President of Finance. Responsibilities:

• Compile, analyze and interpret financial data
• Post cash receipts on a daily basis. Ensure receipts are correctly coded to thegeneral ledger
• Reconcile room and board charges to the student information system and general ledger 
• Prepare student loans schedules for the month end close
• Prepare schedules for the month end close and annual audit
• Prepare and review departmental budgets monthly along with a variance analysis forwarded through the AVP of Finance for senior management review
• Prepare and process journal entries
• Prepare a financial statement analysis on a monthly basis for the AVP of Finance
• Works closely with other offices to reconcile transactions and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with any other related projects and activities as deemed necessary

  Qualifications / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
• CPA strongly preferred
• 3-5 years of accounting experience 
• Strong attention to detail and customer service
• Strong computer skills -Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Experience with various accounting software packages, experience with PowerCampus or Great Plains  is a plus
• Experience in public accounting, Nonprofits, or Higher education  is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skill
• The ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong organizational skills
