Rural K-3 Teaching Position Open

Diamond Elementary is located 52 miles South of Burns OR, off of Hwy 205. The school consists of 2 classrooms with Grades K–8 in a remote ranching community with very small multi-grade class sizes. Diamond Elementary is one of seven frontier, K-8 schoolhouses in Harney County.

Job Description:

Job Overview:

• Maintain high expectations for student academic success and conduct
• Collaborate closely with fellow teacher
• Differentiate instruction effectively to meet the individual needs of students
• Be a master at classroom management and building meaningful relationships
• Participate actively in professional development
• Communicate frequently with parents
• Build strong relationships with students, staff and families
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations
• Self motivated and organized
• Performs other duties as assigned
• School begins August 22 and will be a four day school week with two Fridays a month used for teacher planning and professional development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to live and work in a rural remote ranching community
• Valid Oregon Teaching Certification or the ability to obtain one
• Experience in teaching in a multi-grade classroom preferred but not required
